Know how to use the different products.

As your shoes are starting to look aged (if they’re too aged throw them away and buy a new pair), it’s time to clean them. When cleaning, the goal is to get the leather colour as similar as possible, while not stripping off the oringinal leather’s staining. There are plenty of Saddle soaps, or products like Bick 1, or Lether Therapies ‘Lether Wash’ (packed specially for MISTER MINIT). Saphir, made in France offers Reno May, and a Plant Based Leather leaner. Obviously, the latter is a lot less harsh on your delicate lethar goods. The former can very easily start stripping the original colours of your leather product.
After cleaning, the next step is to apply Saphir Renovateur. This product does contain Mink oil. But the French controlled company of Saphir sources its Mink oil from humane farms in Finland. Mink oil is a very good leather conditioner, but also often causes the leather to look darker. Renovateur will dry and leave a dark coverings that over the leather. This should be buffed well with a brush, which will give some sheen.
If you want to it further, then coat the shoe/boot with a similarly coloured cream Pomadier. When that is buffed back using brushes and clothes. then the decision is made as to whether to bring out the appropriately coloured Pate de Lux wax polish, which if done properly, will bring out even more shine to the shoe or boot.

I didn’t know shoe restoration was this possible

Only recently discovering the notion of caring for ones shoes, I was delighted to come across these guys & the Saphir range. Then putting into motion the guides using the Saphir products I am blown away by the transformation in my shoes. Not to mention how easy it was dealing with Natali, can’t recommend these guys highly enough
